Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS

This 18-55 kit lens was included with the camera when my daughter got her Canon EOS 450D back in 2008. I have borrowed it to see what it can perform in different contexts. It’s only the imagination that sets the limit for such a lens. By finding the sweetspot from each lens you can get really nice pictures from many cheap so-called kit lenses. This lens has its sweetspot around f8 and works well as landscape lens at 18mm. At 55mm along with spacer rings you can get really nice closeups.  Nowadays, it is easy to correct an objective’s optical shortcomings in Lightroom and Photoshop.
